Control system play very important role from the point of view of switchgears functionality. In earlier solutions there were used traditional control systems by means of cable connections between central control (room) and executive devices. Currently, with developed digital technology the whole steering takes place by the agency of central driver located in switchgear. Safety systems which serve also as the executive device in control systems are plugged into central driver. As an example we can treat Siemens SIMOCODE Pro safety systems. The structure of control systems in switchgears is designed with the use of industrial communication networks such as PROFIBUS DP into which we can connect all safety devices. Thanks to this, it is possible to control the drives and control parameters such as:
- currents, voltage, powers
- registration of all the warnings and events (for example overload, asymmetry, etc.)
- registration of the drive’s working time
- configuration of safety device without using computer and specialist software
Preview of work parameters of all drives and configuring safety devices is possible from operator panel placed on switchgears elevation.
