Electric switchgears are sets of devices necessary for the distribution of electric energy for specific receivers. Nowadays with very fast technological development there is a simultaneous grow of the level of technical advancement in systems of power distribution. Automation systems in which electric switchgears are equipped with become more and more important. The simplest form of automation are arrangements ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) designed on the basis of freely programmable drivers. This gives great possibilities of configuring every arrangement ATS, adjusting it to individual customer needs.
A particular form in power distribution systems are cassette-type switchgears. The power supply, power distribution systems and safety and control systems for every drive are placed in separate cassettes. Using distributed automation systems based on industrial communication networks the user has possibility of previewing all parameters of every drive on central control panel, changing safety parameters, registration of every event as well as possibility to connect in the whole switchgears to DCS superior system which manages the technological process.
